Update: Tejon Mountain Village Unanimously Approved
The Kern County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve Tejon Mountain Village on Monday, October 5, 2009. Recognizing the virtues of the plan, Supervisor Ray Watson, whose district includes Tejon Mountain Village, said:"I am supporting Tejon Mountain Village because this development sets the new standard for Kern County, the state of California, and indeed, this nation."
Although our plans have been approved, there are still several steps that we must complete before we can begin construction. Please check back often for updates.
Background
The Tejon Mountain Village planning process began a decade ago when Tejon Ranch began initial scientific and environmental planning for the community.
In 2006, Tejon Ranch partnered with DMB Associates, one of the most respected real estate companies in the West with proven experience creating similar communities (Martis Camp, Glenwild, Forest Highlands and Silverleaf are just a few examples). Together, Tejon Ranch and DMB make up Tejon Mountain Village LLC, the master developer of Tejon Mountain Village.
Kern County conducted a public review process, which included a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) as required by the California Environmental Quality Act. The Board of Supervisors approved Tejon Mountain Village unanimously on October 5, 2009.
